Presumedly Obama was involved in the decision. I would have thought better of him if he’d taken the hit and told the Clintons to stick it in their ear.
It’s not like what Powers said is that far wrong, save for one word.
Yes, Powers made a rookie mistake but she’s hardly the Trent Lott of 2008 – the scale of the offense simply isn’t the same. Even Lott’s gaffe wasn’t so terrible. For a proper perspective, consider politics in Spain.
