The Bush administration has told a federal judge that terrorism suspects held in secret CIA prisons should not be allowed to reveal details of the “alternative interrogation methods” that their captors used to get them to talk.

Kathleen Blomquist, a Justice Department spokeswoman, said yesterday that details of the CIA program must be protected from disclosure.
I could ramble on about truth, justice, and the American way and how the Bush administration is destroying those ideas, but I don’t have the patience to lay all that out again tonight. Instead, I’m just going to go for it.
What this seems to mean is that none of these guys are ever getting out of U.S custody. Ever. Because if one of them did manage to get himself charged, tried, and acquitted, the first thing he’d do on his first day out of prison is to blab to everyone all about the things we did to him. The torture techniques we’re using is a secret that can’t be kept. So why try?
This is the sort of thing that drives me crazy about the Bush administration. Their grasp of right and wrong is severely distorted. The lies and secrecy are too much; Bush and his supporters have to go. Happily, the election is almost here.
Consider this: Is a vote for an incumbent a vote for Bush, regardless of the candidate’s party?
Maybe. It’s good enough logic for me! I’ll see you at the polls on Tuesday.
