Airline Exec Idiocy

A bonus plan for Continental Airlines executives could let some executives earn double their salaries; meanwhile, layoffs of hundreds of Continental pilots went into effect Friday.

Is it American all over again? Judging from the tone of the article, unions at Continental aren’t as strong.

What’s fascinating about this article is the starting salary number quoted for Continental Express (a short-hop regional carrier) pilots: $17,600.

I am hoping that’s a mis-print myself. I don’t want to fly in an airplane piloted by a guy who makes less than a pizza delivery man.
