On a positive note, the Catholic church may be thinking a little straighter, finally, by acknowledging the rubbers may be OK in some circumstances. These stories are probably trial balloons to see which way the wind is blowing. With any luck, it’s the first in a series of reforms this backwards organization badly needs.
I was running with a friend from work the other day and when we were done we happened upon another fellow, who’s known for his neo-liberal beliefs, haranguing a fourth buddy of mine about the mighty W.
It’s impossible for me to defend Bush – his record speaks for itself, I’m afraid – but I had to laugh at the Clinton-ite’s sudden outrage at a corrupt leadership. Amused, I remarked to my running budding that even liberals have a purpose, namely they keep people like Jimmy Swaggart and Pat Robertson out of power.
