Paul Krugman says United States economy lost 273,000 jobs last month. Of those lost jobs, 29,000 were in state and local education, bringing the total losses in that category over the past five months to 143,000.
Obviously this is a mid-to-long-term negative and in general a stupid idea.
A country does not get out of a depression by government intervention; rather it is through the collective ingenuity, desire, work ethic, and – if we’re being honest – desperation of its people.
Cutting off education at the knees does nothing but create future generations of dependents on liberal largesse.
